DepEd Releases School Year 2020-2021 School Calendar

The Department of Education has finally decided to commence the School Year 2020-2021 on August 24, 2020, after a series of surveys, consultations, and internal discussions. This school year will be having a total of 203 school days, ending on April 30, 2021.
DepEd Secretary Leonor Magtolis-Briones signed the DepEd Order No. 007, series of 2020, known as the “School Calendar And Activities for School Year 2020-2021.” The COVID-19 outbreak which greatly affected the education system has yet to be contained and this is the great challenge the stakeholders and learners are facing right now, as well as thousands of teachers waiting for the department’s decision.
While Secretary Briones reiterates that education must continue to give hope and stability, she ensures that the whole department prioritizes the welfare and well-being of teachers as front liners and learners all over the country.
Enclosed is the Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for S.Y. 2020-2021.
The Secretary orders for the immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with the above-mentioned Order.
