October 21, 2016 – This week is MPRE Week or Mid-Year Program and Evaluation Week for all Department of Education School Personnel. But few days before that, the school head of Gapok National High School decided to have the In-Service Training (INSET) for his teaching and non-teaching personnel in which I gladly accepted his invitation to be the one to facilitate the workshop on ICT skills refresher training. It was held at Diesto’s Place in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
They expected to be oriented with the basic office applications particularly with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and asked for teaching tools available online.
The importance of learning new tools in facilitating learning with our students has been a challenge for all of us as 21st century educators. It is indeed necessary to be competent in Microsoft Office programs so that we can be effective in delivering our “goods” to the learners.
I hope that the teachers of Gapok National High School have learned much form our workshop. Thanks to Mr. Al Casquero, their school head for giving me a chance to learn with them.
Gapok National High School is a public high school located in Bagumbayan, Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat. It is under the jurisdiction of the Division of Sultan Kudarat of Region XII.
