Welcome to Bukay Pait National High School!
Through Republic Act 9818 approved by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on November 26, 2009, Bukay Pait National High School became a Techno-Vocational School located at Barangay Bukay Pait, in the municipality of Tantangan, province of South Cotabato.
At the humble beginning of this barangay school catered to the learners within the locality and neighboring barangays with basic high school education and technical courses in Agricultural, Animal Husbandry, and Industrial Electricity. With numerous TESDA NC-II passers and successful degree graduates, Bukay Pait National High School copes with the demands of the community in producing successful learners who are now employed locally and abroad.
Through the leadership of Dr. Manolito G. Nama, the school community is getting bigger in terms of enrolled learners, and additional teaching staff are added. With 28 teaching personnel for Junior and Senior High School Learners, almost 700 enrolled learners are in different grade levels. With the Schools Division initiatives, more classrooms and laboratories were constructed to satisfy the growing number of learners despite the COVID-19 pandemic. More teachers are now into professional development and are continuously attending to online courses offered by the Department of Education through SEAMEO Innotech and NEAP’s accredited schools.
The teachers’ willingness to upgrade their capabilities and skills towards 21st-century learning is a first step for the school to enhance the delivery of quality education and innovative and creative approach in providing to learners’ needs. Since the beginning of the pandemic lockdown, the teachers took the opportunity to upgrade ICT skills, curriculum development, and various courses related to teaching and learning.
One of the DepEd supported courses SEAMEO Innotech’s GURO 21 Course 1 and 2 are very helpful for the teachers to develop basic teaching and learning literacy and higher order thinking skills. Aside from attending short courses, regular Learning Activity Cell (LAC) sessions peer coaching, and school-level technical assistance provide venues for professional development and personal growth.
The abovementioned ways are just several approaches the school adopts in order to create a thinking culture with high hope that each teacher will be able to facilitate a thinking classroom effectively.
