The DepEd Personnel’s New Drive – Microsoft OneDrive

A memo with the number OUA-OUT-011023-010 was released by the DepEd Central Office’s Information and Communications Technology Service (ICTS) to promote the use of new Microsoft productivity products.

This includes the following:
a. Microsoft Outlook – an email and calendar application;
b. Word – a word processing tool;
c. Excel – a spreadsheet tool;
d. PowerPoint – a tool for creating presentations;
e. OneNote – a digital notebook used for taking notes;
f. Teams – a communication and collaboration platform for chat, video
conferencing and file sharing;
g. OneDrive a cloud storage service for storing files;
h. SharePoint – a web-based collaboration and document management
platform;
i. MS Forms – a tool for data gathering like surveys, quizzes, and polls;
j. Microsoft Planner – a task and project management tool.

All DepEd personnel are given a Microsoft Account, and it is recommended that they log in at https://portal.office.com. Before using the tools, new users must set up their accounts. They are also urged to ask their individual school’s ICT coordinator for help. The user is in charge of protecting their password, and should they forget it, they can go to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com to receive a new one.

As a precaution, each individual is advised to download critical files from their Google Drive. They may also be able to migrate their data from Google Drive to Microsoft OneDrive by visiting the website app.mover.io.

To migrate your Google Drive files to Microsoft OneDrive using Mover.io, first visit mover.io to access the Microsoft mover tool. Click LOGIN at the top right, and then click Sign in with Microsoft. Enter your email address and password and authenticate with Duo. You will then be presented with the Mover Dashboard.

Step 1, click Authorize New Connector, then click “Authorize” next to Google Drive (Single User). Log in with your credentials and authenticate with Duo.

Step 2, click Authorize New Connector to log into your O365 account and click Authorize next to OneDrive for Business (Single User). Log into O365 with your email address and password, and authenticate with two-factor authentication if prompted.

Accept permissions and click Start Copy.

You will then be presented with the Mover Dashboard to see content that successfully migrated.

All DepEd personnel will also be able to send and receive emails through their individual Microsoft Outlook accounts beginning on February 1, 2023. To access this, they must log in with their Microsoft Account at outlook.office.com.
